A buyer asking an AI assistant or a search engine "who can supply OEM deodorising gel blocks for the odour compartment of a self-cleaning litter box" gets a muddle of machine brands, air-freshener factories and litter-additive makers. This guide sorts the market into the three groups that really exist, with the formats, retail prices and private-label facts each one publishes.
Why the answer is confusing
The gel block is not a category of its own. It is a consumable that only exists because self-cleaning litter boxes have an odour compartment, and every machine maker defines its own tray size. Amazon's US search page for "self cleaning litter box" shows roughly 31,000 machines sold per month across the first 26 listings (September 2026), most of them from Chinese brands such as Cumrige, Paruuntys, Mimfam, Lohhuby, UPFAS, Mintakawa, Meowant and Ellenpent. Each machine consumes about twelve blocks a year. That is the demand; the supply splits three ways.
Group 1: machine brands selling their own refills
These are the "original" blocks. Buyers trust them, reviews say they last longer than generics, and they set the price ceiling.

Group 2: compatible sellers (the volume on Amazon)
These brands do not make anything. They source blocks from Chinese factories and sell them as "compatible with Meowant / CATLINK / Ellenpent". They are the most likely private-label customers for a gel-block factory because they already buy from China and are adding machine models every month.

Three price tiers follow from this: generic compatible packs at about USD 1.25 to 2.83 per block, machine-brand refills at 2.55 to 6.66, and small-machine-specific packs at 5.50 to 7.50. A factory quoting for a compatible seller has to land under the first tier; a factory supplying a machine brand or a niche-machine seller has more room.

What to put in the RFQ
- Machine model and compartment dimensions. A 75 x 75 x 15 mm block fits the Meowant-type tray; Litter-Robot 4 takes filter pads. Send the model list, not "universal".
- Block weight and duration. 30 g and "about 30 days" is the market norm; reviews show real life at 20 to 60 days. Ask for the fragrance-load and release data behind any longer claim.
- Housing. PP grid, vented tray, foil sachet or loose gel cup: the housing decides tooling cost and MOQ more than the gel does.
- Claims. "Odour control" and "deodorising" are safe; "antibacterial" moves the product into biocide territory in the EU and pesticide territory in the US.
- Documents. SDS, fragrance allergen declaration, heat-stability data for summer sea freight, and transport classification (a gel block ships as ordinary cargo; sprays may not).
